A question that is asked alot is the difference between Phase 1 and Phase 2 properties in Whistler.  Phase 2 Whistler properties are typically hotel/condominium style and are very prevalent in Whistler Village and Village North.  Some examples of Phase 2 Whistler properties are Pan Pacific Mountainside, Westin Resort, Delta Whistler Village Suites, Cascade Lodge, Coast Hotel on Blackcomb to mention a few.  These properties allow for an owner to use their suites a total of 56 days per year.  This is futher divided into 28 days allowed usage in the winter and 28 days of usage in the summer.  The suites are part of a rental pool and the unit revenue share is based on the properties interest upon destruction value (IUD).  For example a one bedroom property on the 5th floor facing the mountain would receive and higher IUD value than a one bedroom on the 2nd floor facing the concierge.  Thus they would receive a larger amount of the shared revenue.  Phase 1 properties are properties that allow for unlimited owner usage, however the owner is supposed to make the property available for rental usage when they are not using the property themselves.
